Stefano India investigates the harmonic and melodic potential of the electric bass, translating academic research into a distinct artistic identity. An internationally active performer, he was part of the first Matteo Mancuso Trio touring in various venues all over Europe and curating the live arrangements. In 2023 he started his project of original compositions Drop the Bass recording Drop the bass – the series, an audio/video live in studio session in six episodes. In 2025 Stefano was invited to represent Festivalle with a showcase at Italian Jazz Conference, the annual meeting of I-Jazz, the national association connecting the most important festivals and promoters in Italy.With Carla Restivo on saxophones, Valerio Dainotti on Keyboards, Carmelo Miceli on drums. He performed in venues such as Jazzahead! Bremen, SRH Berlin (DE), Festivalle (IT), Boullard Musique (CH) for Yamaha Music Europe, A to Jazz (BG), Deva Jazz Festival (RO), (DE), Blue Note Milan, Casa del Jazz Rome, Festival di Spoleto, and Ancient theatre of Taormina (IT) among others. He recorded in albums released by International labels including “Mascot Label Group” (USA/NL) (label known for Joe Bonamassa, Steve Vai and TOTO). His musical career is highly diversified: Modern Jazz, Standards and Latin (Bebo Ferra, Mimmo Cafiero, John Serry, Nicola Caminiti), Fusion and Rock (Matteo Mancuso), Pop Orchestra (Raphael Gualazzi, Fabrizio Bosso), Jazz Orchestra (Peter Erskine, Greg Field, Monica Mancini) and classical music (Double Bass in Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra).
